My night in San Francisco got a little messy after my last post, but I met some cool people and we ended up staying up and watching the sunrise over the Bay Bridge at around 7:15am.
Most of my day following I was too tired to really appreciate my surroundings but I did sit on the north beach area and have a bit of a sleep in the sunshine for a while after walking through Chinatown and also the financial district.
San Francisco in hindsight isn't as nice a city as I expected it to be, it's quite dirty.
Portland in contrast might be the most beautiful place I've been to yet. I'm staying in the Nob Hill area and it's how I always hoped an American town would be.
I'm almost sorry that I've only got one day but I think I've seen most of what I'd like to.
I would definitely recommend Powells Bookstore, it's crazy!!
Tomorrow I'm going to Seattle so that's another state I'll be adding to the list (Washington - lost count!)
